There are three methods of propagating happy trees. If it is propagated by sowing, the seeds should generally be collected in December, and the seeds should be taken out and then sown in the spring. The seed wings are removed and stored in the dry until sown in spring. In order to promote its germination, you can soak it for 2-3 hours, take it out and let it dry, mix it with sand and soil, then spread it on the seedbed, cover it with a layer of fine soil, and cover it with a film to moisturize. After the seedlings emerge, remove the film and shade them appropriately. When 4-5 leaves grow, they can be potted.

2. Layering Propagation

Happiness tree layering is usually carried out from March to April. Select strong 2-year-old branches and girdle them from under their nodes with a width of two to three times the diameter. After peeling off the bark, you need to wrap the wound with peat soil or sandy loam, knead it into a soil ball with a diameter of 8-10 cm, and wrap it with plastic film. Leave a water outlet at the top and water regularly to keep the soil moist. It will usually take root in late autumn, and it can be separated and planted at this time.

3. Propagation by cuttings

The happy tree can also be propagated by cuttings, usually in March-April, and the temperature should be around 15°C. First cut a lignified branch with a length of 15-20 cm, remove the upper leaves, and make the lower incision 0.5 cm below the node. Prepare loose, fertile, sandy loam soil and insert the cutting into it to a depth of about one-third or one-half of its length. After cutting, spray water appropriately to keep the substrate moist. Once the roots grow, you can transplant with soil.
