In a sparse shade environment, the leaves of cold water flowers are distinctly white and green, the internodes are short and compact, and the leaves are translucent and shiny. In a fully shaded environment, cold water flowers often grow leggy, with elongated internodes, soft stems, easy lodging, and loose plant shape.

Fertilizer and water requirements
