The Roselle flower is transformed from the blood and tears of the Roselle Goddess, because of its bright red color. Whenever it opens into full bloom, its color is as red as blood, brightening the river water and dyeing the blue sky red. The slender, bright red petals are like clusters of hunting and burning flames, rushing straight into the blue sky ninety thousand miles away.

Legend 1

He Bo and Luo Bo fought for several years over a beautiful woman named Mi Fei. Concubine Mi was the daughter of the Fuxi family. She was married to Luo Bo and was also called Luo Concubine. This beautiful princess brought hope to the Youluo family. Her marriage to Fuxi also brought great honor to Luo Bo. All this made He Bo extremely jealous.

In fact, these two neighboring tribes are not harmonious. They have left generations of hatred due to war. He Bo decided to start a war and take the beautiful Concubine Mi as his own. Lorber is also actively preparing for the inevitable war. Before the war, Lorber conducted divination for the war, and the divination contained vicious spells. The diviner's name was Kunwu, and his divination was said to be very effective. Kunwu told Luo Bo that war would be unlucky. By chance, Hebo also invited Kunwu to his tribe and asked him to divine the outcome of the war.

Kunwu took out the turtle shell used for divination and Yarrow, carefully predicted using traditional methods, the burning turtle shell shows a sign of great misfortune, and the divination yarrow shows an ominous hexagram. Kun Wu told He Bo that what you are going to fight will be a war without a winner. However, Hebo was determined and his army began to march towards Youluo's camp. Lorber had to fight, he had no choice. He Bo's army quickly captured many fortresses and camps containing the Luo clan. Luo Bo retreated steadily. Finally, Luo Bo and his tribe were forced to the Luo River.

He Bo sent his own envoy to give Luo Bo a final ultimatum: either sacrifice Mi Fei or the entire clan be destroyed. Lobo told the envoy that he would rather die in battle than humiliate his beloved concubine. However, Concubine Mi persuaded the furious Luo Bo and asked the messenger to tell He Bo and ask him to row a flower boat to welcome the bride. Hebo was overjoyed when he heard the news brought by the messenger. Under the escort of his soldiers, he personally drove a flower boat to greet Concubine Mi. Concubine Mi boarded Hebo's flower boat amidst the cries of the clan members. Concubine Mi sneered at the proud He Bo and jumped into the rough Luo River. The news of the princess's death in love reached Fuxi, who was furious and sent troops to annihilate the He family in one fell swoop. Concubine Mi drowned in Luoshui out of righteousness. People said that she turned into the god of Luoshui and was respected by generations. Later, many bright red flowers bloomed on the banks of the Luo River.
