Potted nasturtiums need loose, fertile, and highly permeable culture soil. They like moisture and are afraid of waterlogging.

Nasturtiums are usually propagated by sowing seeds, but they can also be propagated by cuttings from twigs. For annual ground planting, it can be sown in the sunny border in early spring and transplanted 1 week after the seedlings emerge. The seedlings are 10 cm tall and can be planted in the open field in loose, fertile soil and slightly shady areas. Generally, nasturtiums bloom from June to September until frost.

If you need potted plants to bloom from April to May, you can sow seeds in the greenhouse in December of the first year. After sowing, water them thoroughly and place them at a temperature above 20°C at the front entrance of the greenhouse. Seedlings will emerge in about 10 days, and maintain sufficient light. When the plant height is 10 cm, use fertilized culture soil, put 50 grams of shredded hoof pieces as base fertilizer, and put it in a two-tank pot for maintenance;

If it needs to bloom on New Year's Day and Spring Festival, it can be cut in August Cut 10 cm long twigs, fill them with plain sand in shallow pots, and place them in a cool, ventilated and humid environment. It survives after 15 days. In October, the two pots are replaced and placed in the front entrance of the greenhouse. The appropriate room temperature is about 15℃ during the day and about 10℃ at night. The light should be sufficient and the temperature should not be too high to prevent excessive growth. When changing the pot, water it thoroughly once, and then replenish water in a timely manner when loosening the soil. Keep the pot soil moist until it is wet, and do not allow water to accumulate for a long time. Chemical fertilizer solution and organic fertilizer water can be applied alternately every 10 days;

Potted nasturtiums that need to bloom from September to October in autumn can be sown in early June. During the high temperature and heat periods, they must be placed in a shady, ventilated and cool environment. The cool autumn will bring prosperity, flowers and leaves.
