Molan's breeding methods and precautions
1. Soil

1. Soil

The soil for planting mochilan must be rich in humus, slightly acidic, loose and breathable, and conducive to water and fertilizer conservation. For example: leaf mold in the forest, coarse sand in the river, decayed tree bark, broken bricks, chaff, sphagnum moss, edible fungus waste, etc.

2. Flower pots

Commonly used orchid planting pots include: mud pots, pottery pots, glazed pots, and plastic pots, which are suitable for balconies, roofs, and indoors.

However, most orchid cultivation at home is for ornamental purposes, and it is best to use purple sand pots or plastic pots. Special purple sand pots for orchids are mostly in the shape of tall horns, with porous bottoms, hydrophobic and breathable, and unique shapes; plastic pots are deep, porous, light, clean, cheap, easy to move, and reduce floor pressure.

3. Light

Mo Lan It likes a semi-shady environment, with weak sunlight in winter and soft sunlight in spring, which is suitable for the growth of orchids and can be exposed to sunlight all day long. The sun is strong in summer and autumn and requires appropriate shade. You can place the orchid pot under the eaves and only see the light in the morning or evening, but not after 9 a.m.

4. Temperature

The temperature for orchid root germination and normal growth is between 20 and 28°C. It grows slowly below 20°C, grows rapidly above 25°C, and grows rapidly above 30°C. It will enter sleep state.

In winter, the temperature is 10℃~16℃ during the day and 5℃~10℃ at night. Molan can sleep normally. Most orchids grown at home spend the winter indoors, and they can safely survive the severe cold periods in winter and spring without taking heating measures. If you overwinter in the leeward direction of the courtyard or balcony, you can use plastic film to build a temporary greenhouse.

5. Fertilization

Molan Fertilization should be light and not heavy, generally starting in late spring and stopping in late autumn.

Fertilizer can be applied when the temperature is 18~25℃, once every 20 days. Spray a small amount of water after fertilization to prevent the fertilizer liquid from contaminating the leaves.

6. Precautions

1. Avoid sunlight. Orchids can be placed on east-facing, south-facing, or west-facing balconies for management. Among them, the cultivation effect on east-facing and west-facing balconies is better. On south-facing balconies, excessive sunlight should be avoided. Because Molan is of moderate height, it can be placed anywhere.

2. Repot in time. There is also a limit to the viewing of orchids. The best viewing time is 5 to 7 years after planting. Without repotting, the ornamental value will decrease after 2 years, so repots and soil should be repotted in time.
