Ruo Ge Shi looks fleshy, furry, and very cute. So, what are the breeding methods and matters that should be paid attention to in Ruo Ge Shi?

Cultivation methods

Temperature

The suitable temperature for growth is 15-25 degrees, and in winter it should not be lower than 5 degrees. It is best to move it indoors to a ventilated place to survive the winter safely.

Lighting

Ruogeshi prefers a warm, dry and well-illuminated growing environment, but is not tolerant of low temperatures.

Soil

The overall requirement for soil substrate selection is to be loose and breathable. You can choose cinder mixed with peat soil and a small amount of perlite, with a ratio of about 6:3:1, and lay river sand on the soil surface.

Watering

Watering during the growth period is generally done dry and thoroughly. During the rainy season and high temperature season, watering is generally done 1-2 times a week. Keep the pot soil dry in winter.

Fertilization

Fertilization during the growth period is generally once every two months.

Propagation methods

Pole cuttings

Ruo Ge Shi mainly uses cuttings to propagate. Select neater branches and leaves and insert them into sand pots. They will take root about 20-25 days after the insertion. It can be potted when it is 3 cm long and has a high survival rate.

Division

Division is another propagation method of Ruogeshi, which separates the clustered Ruogeshi from the mother plant. Just put it into another container, and the survival rate of the ramets is very high.

Lighting

Don’t forget to let Ruogeshi bathe in the sun at any time. Only when there is sufficient light will the edges of Ruogeshi’s leaves turn red. oh! Otherwise, the flowers will grow too long.

Watering

Be careful not to water it on the leaves of Ruo Ge Shi. If you water it on the leaves, wait until the water drops dry. After drying, it will leave spots on Ruo Geshi's body!

Container
