Cultivation methods
Repotting
Potted dragon spitting pearls are generally repotted every 1 to 2 years. The repotting time can be in early spring or after the flowers have faded. When changing pots, first pad the drainage holes with broken tiles, then add a small amount of bone meal as base fertilizer, then add new culture soil (4 parts of mulch soil, 4 parts of garden soil, 2 parts of sandy soil), plant the plants, and leave 2~3cm along the mouth to facilitate fertilization and watering. After repotting, water thoroughly and place in a shady place to slow down the seedlings. After the seedlings are slowed down, move them to a sunny place for maintenance.
Water and fertilizer management
Watering: Long Tu Zhu is sensitive to moisture. During the growth period of stems and leaves, the salt soil should be kept moist, but watering should not be excessive. Excessive water will cause only vines to grow without blooming, or even the leaves will turn yellow and fall, and the roots will rot and die. It should be fully watered and properly shaded during the high temperature season in summer. Watering should be reduced in winter to make it dormant in order to survive the winter safely.
Fertilization: Fertilization should not be excessive. Apply decomposed thin cake fertilizer and water once every 7 to 10 days during the flowering season, and apply fertilizer 3 to 4 times in a row. If yellowing is found during the cultivation process of Long Tu Zhu, it can be combined with top dressing (applying) 0.2% ferrous sulfate to gradually turn the leaves from yellow to green.
Temperature and light
Temperature: It is not advisable to leave it in the dark for too long. If the temperature is above 21°C and exceeds 24 hours, the flowers will fall.
Light: Long Tuzhu needs sufficient light in winter and shade when the weather is too hot in summer, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow. Insufficient light will cause vine growth and no flowering. Flower bud differentiation is not affected by photoperiod, but stronger light can promote flower bud differentiation and development.
Propagation methods
Longtuzhu can be propagated by sowing and cutting.
Notes
Pruning and pruning
Household dragon spitzhu generally grows shorter, but in fact its branches can grow very long. If you pay attention to shaping and pruning, you can cultivate a very beautiful dragon spitzhu. You can either let it grow and grow branches, or you can prune it into a beautiful dwarf plant.
