Azalea The absorption capacity is relatively weak compared to other plants, so when fertilizing, the principle of "fertilize thinly and frequently" must be adhered to. The fertilizers applied are also different in different growth periods. Liquid fertilizers based on phosphorus from 2 to 4 months before flowering can promote larger and more colorful blooms; stop fertilizing during the flowering period, otherwise it will cause early flower drop; topdressing with nitrogen fertilizer every 10 days or so after the flowers fade can promote the growth of new branches. After late July, apply phosphorus-based liquid fertilizer every 10-15 days. When dormant in winter, no fertilization is required.
