It is best to choose winter plum cuttings in December. Peel away from the base of the wintersweet plant and cut off 1-3 year old branches. The branches need to be stored before cutting, leaving about 20cm of the lower end, then tied up, sprayed with water and covered with plastic film and placed in a dark and ventilated place. After 20 days, insert the branches into clean plain sand, preferably covered with a layer of plastic film.

It is best to cut wintersweet in December. It can also be done at other times, but the survival rate is not as good as in December.

< p>1-3-year-old branches are most suitable for cuttings. Peel them from the base of the wintersweet plant, then tear them outward along the peeled area, and cut them off with a knife.

3. Storage of branches

The cut branches cannot be cut immediately. They need to be stored for a period of time. Keep the lower part and keep the length at about 20 cm. Then trim the fluffy part at the bottom and cut it into a smooth shape. Tie them up with rope, spray them with water and wrap them in a double-layer plastic bag, place them in a dark and ventilated place, and adjust the temperature to 12-16 degrees Celsius.

Choose pure coarse sand as the substrate for cuttings, and pour enough water before cutting. After the branches are stored for about 20 days, the bottom part will begin to swell and a piece of white tissue will bulge out. When you observe that the upper branch buds also sprout, you can take cuttings. First make a hole in the wet sand, then bury the cuttings in and press them firmly. Water them thoroughly after all the cuttings are made.
