Rhododendron fertilization is mainly done during the growth period, early flowering period and late flowering period. The growth period is mainly concentrated in spring and autumn. Before flowering, applying more phosphorus fertilizer will improve the quantity and quality of flowering. Nitrogen fertilizer should be added after flowering to add nutrients to the plants in time, which is beneficial to their growth. Be sure to control the water before fertilizing. Watering after fertilizing can speed up the absorption of fertilizer.

Fertilizer for rhododendrons should be determined according to the age of the flower. Fertilization is not suitable during the seedling stage. After 2-3 years of growth, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be applied. For older plants, apply more nitrogen fertilizer. In addition, the time of fertilization should be controlled, usually in spring and autumn. Before fertilizing, the fertilizer should be fully diluted and the water should be controlled for a period of time. After fertilizing, make sure there is plenty of water to facilitate its absorption.

1 , Growth period: Rhododendron has two growth periods. One is spring. At this time, use decomposed cake fertilizer for fertilization. Apply it 3-4 times a month. It must be fully diluted before fertilizing. After entering autumn, it enters the second growth period. At this time, the flower buds are differentiated and cut off. It is necessary to apply a certain amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Watering should be done the next day after fertilization to avoid burning the roots.

2. Pre-flowering period: Provide azalea flowers in the pre-flowering period. Sufficient nutrients, the fertilization at this time is mainly phosphate fertilizer, and a certain amount of potassium fertilizer can be added. Apply little or no nitrogen fertilizer as it will hinder flowering.

3. Late flowering period: Nitrogen fertilizer should be added immediately after the flowers fade. At this time, the plant lacks nutrients. Nitrogen fertilizer should be applied once every 10 days, which is more beneficial to the growth of branches and leaves. From August to October, a certain amount of phosphorus fertilizer should be added and applied every half month, which is very helpful for flowering in the second year.
