Rose bud grafting is most suitable from mid-May to mid-June. The rootstock for bud grafting is rose. The scion is selected from a full branch that has bloomed. Peel off the outer thorns. Select the bud from the middle part of the branch and 1cm above the bud. Cut it down to 2cm below the branch bud. The location for bud grafting is selected close to the ground, draw a T shape, lift up the cortex with the thin horny stalk, and embed the branch buds.

The most suitable season for bud grafting is from mid-May to mid-June. During this period, the temperature is just right. The rainy season has not yet officially arrived, and there will be no waterlogging. The rate will be relatively higher.

2. Rootstock selection

Budding The rootstock used is rose, which must be of good quality and free of diseases and insect pests. The thickness should not be too thin, at least about 0.5 cm, so as to ensure the success rate of subsequent operations.

3. Branch and bud selection

The scion should be selected from a substantial branch that has bloomed, about 30cm in length, cut off the leaves, and then peel off the outer thorns. Select the buds from the middle part of the branches and observe if they have a tendency to sprout and look relatively enlarged. Cut from 1cm above the bud, halfway through the xylem, to 2cm below the bud. Hold the petiole with one hand and quickly peel off the woody part. Be sure not to damage the bud eyes. If you are not in a hurry to bud, you can wrap it in a wet towel first.

4. Carry out bud grafting

Choose the location of bud grafting close to the ground, so that not only can the branch buds be inserted, but it can also be easily buried in the soil. Cut the rootstock cortex into a T shape, lift up the cortex with the thin horny handle, embed the branch buds, and tie the two together with a plastic bag so that they fit closely.
