Grafting of rose flowers is usually carried out in spring and autumn. Choose wild rose as rootstock, do not use those with nodules. Cut it off 2cm above the root system, leaving a gap in it. Then cut the lower part of the spike tree diagonally and scrape off the skin on one side. Then insert it into the gap of the rootstock, align the peeled side with the xylem, tie it with tape, plant it in plain sand, and place it in a sunny place. It will sprout after a week. If the branches turn black, it means the grafting failed and needs to be re-grafted.

1. Grafting time
The grafting time of rose is generally between summer and autumn, when the temperature is not so hot, which is more conducive to its survival. Grafting can also be done in spring, but it should be avoided during the rainy season, otherwise it will be detrimental to its growth.
2. Rootstock treatment
Rose It is generally appropriate to choose wild rose as the rootstock. The roots of the rootstock must be treated first. If the root system is too developed, it can be cut into multiple parts. Roots with nodules cannot be used and are detrimental to survival and growth. Cut off 2-3 cm above the root system, and make a vertical cut between the bark and xylem of the cut, leaving a small gap.
3. Spike wood treatment
Generally, 10 cm long branches are selected for rose trees. Cut off the thorns on the branches and determine the up and down direction based on the position of the bud points. Form into a wedge underneath and scrape off the skin on one side to expose the xylem.
4. Grafting
The lower part of the rose earwood is inserted into the gap of the rootstock, so that the side with the skin scraped off fits the xylem of the rootstock. Tie the fitting position with tape and plant into plain sand. If the temperature is not high, cover it with a plastic bag and place it in a sunny place. Generally, new buds can grow after a week. Low temperature will delay the growth of buds, but generally not more than 1 month. If the branches turn black, the grafting failed.
