Cutting of rose flowers is usually done in spring and autumn. Select a thick branch of about 10 cm as a cutting, keep the two upper leaves, cut the bottom diagonally, and apply rooting water. Insert the branches 5 cm into the soil, then cover them with plastic bags to keep them moisturized. After 40 days, you can remove the bags and cultivate them.

1. Cutting time
Rose flower cuttings are suitable for spring and autumn. Spring is mostly in April and May, and autumn is in September and October. High temperatures in summer will cause failure, but cutting indoors in winter can also be done.
2. Pot soil preparation
Suitable potting soil can provide a better growing environment for the branches. It is recommended that garden soil, leaf mold soil and chaff ash be mixed in a certain proportion as culture soil, which can provide nutrients for the growth of cuttings. Do not add base fertilizer to the potting soil, nor should you apply fertilizer after cutting. Fertilizer will cause damage to the branches.
3. Cutting branches
Select Stout branches with leaf buds about 10 cm. The bottom should be cut diagonally, and the middle and lower leaves should be removed, leaving only the two compound leaves on the top. This can avoid water transpiration. Applying rooting water or willow sap to the bottom of the branches will help the branches take root. Before cutting, use chopsticks to poke holes in the pot soil, and then insert the cuttings 5 cm into the soil.
4. Bagging and moisturizing
After cutting, cover the branches with plastic bags, but do not tie them. This can effectively moisturize the cuttings. Take them off at night for ventilation and cover them again in the morning. Bagging takes about 40 days. During this period, the soil should be kept moist, but there should be no accumulation of water. All watering should not be excessive and can be watered thoroughly when the soil is slightly dry.
