Don’t change the overall shape, but cut the branches that are too long. Generally, count from the top down, keep the first strong bud, and then cut it off at 3-4 cm from the upper end.

Late-flowering clematis blooms later, usually in summer or autumn. They have ample time to grow before flowering. To avoid overgrowth, most of the branches need to be cut off to allow them to regrow. Just keep 3-7 nodes on each branch, cut off all the excess, and thin out the overly dense areas.
