The time of grafting has a lot to do with the method used. The laparotomy or skin grafting method should be carried out in March, and the bud grafting method can be done in July or September. Cut off the rootstock 6-10cm from the ground and select a strong scion to be used. Make a 3cm wound directly on the cut surface of the rootstock, cut the bottom of the scion into a wedge shape, insert it into the rootstock, and wrap it in a plastic bag.

During grafting, different methods are used and different times are used. If you want to use hara-kiri or skin-to-skin grafting, you can do it in March in the spring. If you want to use the bud grafting method, the time can be chosen in July. If xylem budding is used for grafting, it is better to do it in September in autumn.

1. Rootstock: Usually, the rootstock used for grafting must be in a healthy state, and then sawed off at a distance of about 6-10cm from the ground.

2. Scion: The scion used must be strong. And it should have full buds. There should be 5-7 buds on the scion, and the length should be about 7-10cm. It needs to be grafted as soon as possible after cutting. If not grafted at that time, wrap it in a moist towel to avoid evaporation of water.

3. Grafting: When starting grafting, water it once, use a sharp knife to flatten the rootstock, and then make a 3cm straight cut. The bottom of the scion also needs to be cut to the same length as the rootstock wound. The bottom should be cut into a wedge shape, and then inserted into the rootstock cut and wrapped in a plastic bag.
