The mirror grass I just bought doesn’t look good in a flower pot, so I can plant it in a flower pot that is the same size as the original soil. Usually put it in a room with bright astigmatism for maintenance, observe that the soil surface turns white and water it every time, and water it every 15 days during the growth period. The maintenance temperature in winter should not be lower than 0℃, and you can get more sun to promote the accumulation of plant nutrients. If the temperature is low, water should be properly controlled to avoid frostbite or even death of mirror grass.

1: Soil
The mirror grass you just bought does not need to be repotted or replaced with soil. If you don’t like the pots not looking good, you can plant them in a pot that is similar in size to the original soil and grow it with the plant in the future. Gradually replace the large pot as it grows. It is best to change the pot in spring.
2. Light
Mirror grass does not have high demand for light. The astigmatism environment at home is enough for its growth. However, the light in winter is warm and soft, so it is best to move the potted plant to a place with direct sunlight. Drying in a bright place will make the mirror grass grow more vigorously and the leaves will be greener.
3. Temperature
The most suitable growth temperature for mirror grass is 10-25°C. The temperature for winter cultivation cannot be lower than 0°C, otherwise the plant will be easily frostbitten.
4. Watering
Mirror grass likes moisture but is afraid of waterlogging. During the growth period, the soil surface turns white, and the pot soil feels light and watery when you hold it. When the temperature is high in summer, more ventilation is needed, and the plants should be frequently sprayed with water to moisturize. In winter, when the temperature is low, wait until the soil is nearly dry before watering. Proper water control will help the plants survive the winter.
5. Fertilization
During the peak growth seasons of spring and autumn, topdress with comprehensive nutritional fertilizer and water every half a month. The elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium should be balanced. Do not apply partial nitrogen fertilizer to prevent the plant stems and leaves from becoming soft and growing too tall.
6. Pests and diseases
When maintaining mirror grass indoors, attention should be paid to ventilation. It is best to raise it in the open if possible, otherwise plants with poor ventilation will easily attract scale insects. Once an insect infestation occurs, you can use a cotton swab dipped in 75% alcohol to wipe off the scale insects.
